Jerónimos

The Brand Jerónimos is the oldest of the portfolio. It was born in 1792 when Jerónimo Martins, coming from Galicia, opened his store in Chiado, creating Jerónimo Martins & Filho. The brand Jerónimos comes from the founder's need to sell the products that he was importing, mainly exotic products from the far East. The store and the brand became iconic symbols of Lisbon, suppliers of the royal family and of all the embassies in the city.
Jerónimos continues to serve the Portuguese consumers today, with a portfolio of products that help in daily cooking and baking.

Kellogs

The Kellogg's brand was born in 1898 when, in a failed attempt to make muesli, the founder W.K. Kellog and his brother Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, changed breakfast forever when they accidentaly transformed wheat grains in flakes. W.K. continued to make experiences until he transformed corn int oflakes, creating the worldwide deliciously famous recipe for Kellogg's Corn Flakes.

The brand arrived in Portugal in 1978 in partnership with JMD.

Illy

Illy Caffè was founded in 1933 in Trieste by Francesco Illy. Today it is led by the third generation of the family. It is a known and appreciated brand in the five continentes for the high quality and the velvety taste of its coffee. An unmistakable unique blend made of nine types of pure Arabica that delights millions of people every day at home, in the office, in hotels, restaurants and cafes.

L'Or

L'OR is a coffee brand with french origin that means "Gold". Born in 1992, it has the ambition to bring the best coffee in the world to consumers and, since then, it has provided exceptional coffee experiences every day. Since 2010 it is present in the Nespresso ® Compatible Capsules, bringing a solution to consumers in supermarkets.

Since 2017 in Portugal and with JMD as a partner, it has reached category leadership in 2020. Read more in our Success Stories.

Barilla

Barilla was founded in 1877 by Pietro Barilla in Parma. Back then, its production was focused on bread and pasta. The family company evolved from generation to generation and today, it is the largest food industrial company in Italy, and a worldwide leader in Italian Pasta.

Barilla joined JMD in 2017 and has a strong portfolio that covers Pasta, Sauces and Food Service Products.

Guloso

The brand Guloso was founded in 1945, specializing in tomato products. It is integrated in one of the largest agro industrial Portuguese companies, Sugal Group, a company of 100% Portuguese capital that became one of the largest tomato products producer worldwide. 
JMD distributes teh brand sicne 1968.

Heinz

Heinz has 150 years of history. The founder, Henry John Heinz, had as life philosofy "to improve the quality of the product in a jar or a tin, we must first find the best product on the field". This motto remains until today. About seven to eight tomatoes are used, depending on the size of the fruit, to produce a 397g jar of ketchup. 

The brand is distributed by JMD since 1968, being one of the longest periods of the portfolio.

Tabasco

Tabasco is a global brand, recognized in all corners of the world and present in 160 countries. The famous Tabasco sauce is prepared with red peppers called Capsicum Frutescens (from a variety called tabasco), vinegar and salt, then matured in oak barrels.

It is a market leader in Portugal, and distributed by JMD since 2012.

Barilla

Mouseline

Mousline is a 60-year-old French brand, founded in 1963.

In several countries under the Maggi brand, this product was the first instant mashed potato launched by Nestlé.

At the end of 2022, the mashed potato production unit was purchased by the FnB fund and, in 2024, this mashed potatoes were no longer under the Maggi brand, being the distribution of the Mousline, and its exclusivity in the Portuguese market, transferred to JMD.

The Brand is leader in France, as well as in several European countries, such as Portugal, where its market share is above 30%.

Eat Real

In 2017, Eat Real was created for people that love snacking, but want to feel good about it too. Eat Real makes award-winning snacks that never compromise taste, using grains and pulses as our base. The hummus chips contain 40% less fat than regular potato chips, and our lentil chips contain 30% less fat, making them the perfect snack, whatever the occasion.

Pringles

About 50 years ago, two serious snack lovers bashed their large brains together to create a potato-based snack to pop the mind and mesmerise the mouth. And Pringles was created. Besides its iconic shape that holds the tongue and mesmerises your tastebuds, Pringles is also globally known for its tube shaped packaging, that was developed to guarantee that the unique snack remains whole and crunchy. 

With different flavours and limited editions every year, Pringles continues to delight the Portuguese consumer and to be a leader brand it is snacks category.

After Eight

After Eight was born in 1962 as a pioneer in the mixture of chocolate and mint for after dinner occasions. Through the best combination of thin dark chocolate and a delicious and fresh mint filling, After Eight makes your dinners even more special. And in the festive season like Christmas, the brand has something special to offer: Limited editions every year to offer to those you love the most.

The brand is part of the JMD portfolio since 1989.

Baci

It was Luisa Spagnoli, in 1922 who created the Baci® Perugina® recipe. She added a precious cocoa filling with hazelnuts, on which she placed a whole hazelnut and finally she covered everything with her special chocolate, the Luisa® dark chocolate.
The result was a small masterpiece with a rich taste and a shape resembling a hand's knuckle, so she decided to call it Cazzotto (punch). Only later did it take the name Baci®. With its simplicity, Luisa's recipe was able to obtain a perfect balance between flavours and textures.

Everything in Baci® Perugina® is still unique today: the heart of Baci, the exclusive recipe for Baci® Perugina® and the Luisa® dark chocolate that covers them is made with an inimitable technique which is carefully guarded. In the same way the perfectly imperfect form is respectful of Luisa Spagnoli’s craft tradition.

El Mandarim

The brand appeared in Portugal in the end of the 50s, with Flan Chino El Mandarin, a power prepared pudding very identical to a homemade flan. At that time the product arrived in Portugal via smuggling from Spain. Since 1970 JMD started to represent the brand, bringing the delicious Flans to Portuguese homes.

Merci

Merci (French for "thank you") is a brand of chocolate candy manufactured by the German company August Storck. Merci is manufactured as bars of different kinds of chocolate with different fillings, such as plain milk chocolate, coffee and cream, hazelnut-almond, hazelnut crème, marzipan, praline-cream, dark cream, and dark mousse. Each flavor has its own individual color.

Quality Street

Since its launch in 1936, Quality Street is a magical brand tha found a special place in consumers hearts across the globe. With its iconic shapes, each chocolate is different, and each of us has his/her own favourite, making it the percect choice for a sweet sharing moment.

The brand is part of the JMD portfolio since 1989.

Toffifee

Toffifee is a German brand of caramel candies, owned by the Berlin-based German company August Storck KG. Toffifee are caramel cups containing nougat, caramel and a hazelnut, topped with a chocolate button. First sold in West Germany in 1973, Toffifee were marketed as a product "for the whole family". By 2016, Toffifee were being sold in over 100 countries.

True Gum

In 2017, the founders Jacob, Peter, Zabrina and Morten had an idea. They believed chewing gum could be made better. They knew that gum is the 2nd most common form of liter in the world. And that gum is not biodegradble because it contains microplastics, the same as in tyres or plastic bottles. Therefore, these plastics end up in the ocean frequently and are consumed by sealife.

And so they started producing True Gum in their kitchens, with a 100% plant based recipe and pastic free packaging.

Werther's

A marca de doces foi criada em 1903 devido ao nome da sua cidade Werther, na Westfalia. Mas só em 1969 passou a ser comercializada sob o nome Werthers Echte. O nome Werthers Original, que hoje conhecemos, só foi adotado em 1990 para os mercados internacionais.

A marca está com a JMD desde 1999.

Gran Pavesi

Gran Pavesi is an italian brand specialized in the production of crackers. The company was originally created by Mario Pavesi in Novara, in 1937. Today, it is part of the Barilla group. The Pavesi Crackers have a unique structure and unmatchable flavour for more than 50 years. It ranges from the simplicity of the classic salty and no salt crackers, to the more intense flavour of olive, corn or turmeric crackers.

The brand joined JMD in 2020.

Jacob's

The name "Cream Crackers" refers to the method by which the mixture is transformed into a cream during the production of Jacob' s biscuits. A creamy biscuit has only 35kcal and the ones from Jacob' s are the most famous worlwide since its origin in Ireland in 1885.

McVities

The "Digestive" biscuits were developed originally by 2 Scottish doctors in 1839. Because they contained sodium bicardonate, they believed they had properties that would help digestion. Today, these are the most sold biscuits in the UK and more than two billion McVities biscuits are produced every year, to be sold throughout more than 100 countries. That means that, all together, the McVities biscuits consumed in one year would form a circle that would give 4 turns around the globe.

McVities is part of the JMD portfolio since 2020.

Wasa

We’ve been crafting new products, exploring new flavours, always looking into our founding values, since 1919. As raw and genuine as Swedish nature. A handful of carefully selected raw ingredients that are mixed to create our rustic, authentic product, delivering our distinctive crunch.

Wasa is proud to be a 100% CO2 compensated brand.

Vive Soy

Vivey Soy is a brand from the Spanish group Calidad Pascual. It was the first brand in Spain to launch a vegetable soy drink, back in 2001. The category grew is today part of the daily life of millions of consumers worldwide. And so did Vive Soy, solidifying its role as a global brand.
The brand is present in Portugal since 2010 in partnership with JMD.

Alhambra

Alhambra started its life in 1925 in the Spanish city of Granada, named after the famous monument in the city. In Granada, beer means Alhambra, and the brand is a cultural reference. Part of the Mahou San Miguel group since 2006, Alhambra beer invites us all to stop more. To feel more. It should be tasted in a calm relaxing moment so that you can enjoy every single detail of this special beer.

Capri-Sun

Capri-Sun was born in Germany in 1969, and it is nowadays the No. 1 children's juice in the world.

The brand is present in 120 countries and sells around 6 billion pouchs per year.

Capri-Sun is  fun, flavor and convenience.

Has joined the JMD portfolio in April 2024, and from 2025 onwards the iconic pack will be 100% recyclable.

Evian

Evian was found in 1789 in the village of Évial-les-Bains in the French Alps, during an occasional walk, by the Marquis of Lessert. Trying this spring water, he began drinking it regularly, until he saw improvements in his health. In 1806 he opened the first Therms and Spa and in 1826 began selling the first bottles of Evian water. That's how one of the most famous and premium waters worldwide began.

Evian is distributed by JMD since 2012.

Font Vella

Font Vella is a Spanish brand with a clear purpose. It found that in Spain, 87% of children between 3 and 17 years old, don't drink enough water. Therefore Font Vella created a kids range with the objective of incentivizing children to drink more often and in a fun way, with their favourite cartoons and characters.

Mahou

Mahou is a beer brand born in Spain in 1890. Since early a brand very connected with sports, in 1909 created its most iconic Beer, Mahou Cinco Estrellas. Since then it continued to evolve, creating new and unique beers and solidifying its position as market leader in Spain.
With a portfolio of international and premium beers like Mahou Maestra, the brand joined JMD in 2019.

San Miguel

San Miguel is a global beer brand with a marked international character. The brand was created in Philippines in 1890, and from the Philippines it has concquered the world. In 2000 it became part of the Mahou group, creating the Mahou San Miguel company, and continuing its expansion.
San Miguel joined JMD in 2019.

Yankee Candle

Founded in 1969 in the United States, Yankee Candle has become one of the world's largest candle manufacturers. Recognized for its wide variety of scented candles, offering over 150 different fragrances, and for the high quality of the wax that allows for even and long-lasting burning. In addition to its signature jar format, the brand offers a variety of formats and products such as sticks, electric air fresheners, car air fresheners... The brand is appreciated for its quality, range of fragrances, and for creating a cozy and fragrant atmosphere in both domestic and commercial settings.

Ballerina

Ballerina, a Spanish brand dating back to 1968, has always been closely associated with the yellow cleaning wipe, which became the star of every advertisement and is still recognized by everyone today. It is a symbol of quality and trust, bringing decades of cleaning tradition to every Portuguese home. Each Ballerina product offers maximum absorbency and durability, making household tasks more efficient, providing a unique cleaning experience. New Brand of Coffe L'OR, how to launch a new leader

L’OR, a brand from the JDE group, joined JMD in the end of 2017. The launch allowed the Portuguese consumer to, for the first time, find Nespresso ® aluminium compatible capsules in modern retail.
